HTML5 is a new standard for hyper text scripting to develop Rich User Interface(Rich UI) which supports media features like audio and video, also supports for new calender fields and mathematical formulas.

HTML5 is important for cross-platform-mobile-applications, which runs on any smartphones and tabs with less power consumption. Mobile developers are experiencing problems due to different mobile development platforms like Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows etc. HTML5 can solve this problem by providing a consistent development platform for different smartphones. Generally HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3 features are used to develop cross-platform-mobile-apps. Moreover cross-platform-mobile-applications reduces the customer investment for different platforms.

We experienced that desktop(stand alone) application provides rich user experience(user friendly and lightweight), whereas web application are not(comparatively). HTML5 standards can reduce this gap in developing Rich UX for web applications.

Overall HTML5 is excellent for development of cross-platform-mobile-applications and rich-web-application.
